Bundesliga 30.01.2007 Preview

Bayern eager to bounce back

Bayern want to make amends for the BVB defeat when they host Bochum. VfB take on Arminia, Gladbach host FCN and Eintracht travel to Wolfsburg.

FC Bayern München - VfL Bochum

Bochum have lost their last five matches at Bayern, but at least they managed to score in four of these matches. VfL have won just two out of 32 matches against the Bavarians.

The Blue-Whites managed just one single Bundesliga win in Munich, a 2-0 victory on August 28th 1991.

Bayern have managed just one clean sheet in their last seven home matches, VfL have managed just one clean sheet away from home so far.

"We can't afford any more slip-ups. Time is running out for FC Bayern München. If we fail to beat Bochum, the title is pretty much beyond us", FCB head coach Felix Magath said.

Borussia Mönchengladbach - 1. FC Nürnberg

Gladbach have already lost eleven matches, Nuremberg just two.

The "Foals" have failed to win any of their last four home matches (three defeats). The "Club" are unbeaten for seven matches while Gladbach haven't won since matchday 7.

Both FCN and Borussia haven't lost a match in which they took the lead this season.

"We'll get out of trouble. There's so much potential in the team, we just need to get the Cottbus defeat out of our heads", Borussia's Alexander Baumjohann said.

Nuremberg were boosted by the signing of Zvjezdan Misimovic on Monday. "We are delighted to continue our way of signing young players with a fair share of experience", sporting director Martin Bader said.

VfB Stuttgart - Arminia Bielefeld

On matchday 3 VfB managed to win 3-2 despite having two players (Osorio, da Silva) sent off.

Bielefeld have won just one out of 14 away matches against Stuttgart, a 3-2 win on April 28th 1982. VfB have always managed to get on the score-sheet when they have played a home match against Bielefeld.

Armin Veh made his debut on the VfB bench in the 2-1 defeat in Bielefeld on matchday 21 last season.

"We have to play completely differently than in Nuremberg. We lacked everything we showed in the first half of the season", VfB head coach Armin Veh demanded.

"We're facing a quality team again. We have to play compact and aggressively. You saw in the match against Nuremberg that they have difficulties with that", Arminia head coach Thomas von Heesen said.

VfL Wolfsburg - Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht keeper Markus Pröll rescued Eintracht a point on matchday 3 when he saved Diego Fernando Klimowicz's penalty.

Wolfsburg have won all five home matches against Eintracht, scoring eight and conceding none. The Hessians are winless for four games against Wolfsburg.

However, Wolfsburg have lost their last four matches in a row and are winless for seven. Frankfurt lost their last three matches, conceding ten goals.

"I don't think my players know about our poor record in Wolfsburg. But we want to change that, that's for sure", Eintracht head coach Friedhelm Funkel said.
